Toscanini Restaurant Background
Restaurant Toscanini is an Italian restaurant seating 60 guests, located on Bulevardi in central Helsinki. Toscanini started its operations in November 2005. The main purpose of the restaurant is to serve authentic Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Toscanini menu includes flavors from the many provinces of Italy, each with their own rich culinary traditions. The list also includes classics that have been client favorites ever since 2005 while many people consider Toscanini’s tiramisu the best in the city.

Menu Stagionale Full Course
Since being the first time here, we took the waiter advice and ordered “Menu Stagionale” €51.00 which consists of a starter, rice course, meat entree, and homemade dessert.
Assorted bread and homemade sauce (nut & fruit mixture) are being served during our waiting session, you can request for bread refill as much as you want without any charges! 😉
*The Menu Stagionale we took is actually rather similar to “Omakase” in Japanese, which means let the chef decide a meal course for you.
Delicious Cured Ham
Heres our starter dish, “Vitello Tonnato” featuring thin slices of Veal (young calf) served with tuna fish dressing and anchovy sauce.
This dish has an intense flavor of ham and spices, tastes especially refreshing while having it with the fresh rocket leaves, our personal favorite throughout the whole course! 😉
Exquisite Special Risotto
The rice course “Risotto al Radicchio” featuring Risotto with radicchio, Gorgonzola cheese, and roasted hazelnuts.
It might seem like a porridge but it was actually an Italian Rice dish with strong cheezy and nutty flavor, hard to accept it at first but slowly gets addicted to its unique taste after a few scoops.
Toothsome Braised Pork Cheek
Our spotlight of the day is none other than the meat entree dish, “Guancia di Maiale Brasata al Vino Rosso, Polenta al Tartufo e Carote” – Pork Cheek braised in red wine served with truffle polenta and caramelized carrots.
This masterpiece truly demonstrates the meaning of succulent, soft and juicy on each mouthful bites, satisfying yet not overly greasy while covering with a little bit of balsamic mint sauce. 😉
*Polenta is a dish of boiled cornmeal that was made from grains, it may be served as a hot porridge, or it may be allowed to cool and solidify into a loaf that can be baked, fried, or grilled.
Delectable Mascarpone Tart
Finally, as for our dessert course, “Tart al Mascarpone e Sorbetto al Limone” – Mascarpone tart serves with strawberries, almond flakes, and lemon sorbet ice cream.
There are only two words that we can think of during our dessert session; sweet and zesty which is actually satisfying and great to balance off our palate after having such a hearty meal. 😉
Fruity Cranberry Juice
Did we just mention that we took some beverage earlier? Ah, there it is the “Bloody Mary” Cranberry Juice €6.00 that accompanies us throughout our whole dining session.
This “red potion” does its job very well, gives a fabulous scent and fruity taste to whichever course we are having, absolutely fantastic choice of juice (for non-alcoholic drinker) to have in Toscanini! 😉
*In our opinion, the one-course portion is rather generous that can be shared between two people (especially for ladies).
