All You Can Eat Thai Bar-B-Q @ Ruk Mookata
After having many different types of Local Malaysian and Japanese Steamboat and whats next? Today we will be having full dining experience on Thai Style Steamboat (Mookata) at Ruk Mookata around Bandar Puteri Area.
First and foremost, the majority diners in Ruk Mootaka are packed with a whole family group who can easily extend into 2-3 tables seat (especially during the weekend). If you would like to dine in Ruk Mookata during their peak hour, it is wise to pay a visit early (around 5 or 6 pm) or have an early reservation via phone beforehand.
Base Soup & Complimentary Drink
Once seated, a waiter will arrange a Thai-Style Steamboat for you (uses a bunch of charcoal as heat base, upper plate can grill meat while lower plate is filled with soup for steamboat). The waiter will do the first time messy job (meat grilling) for you to ensure everything runs smoothly and the heat is perfect for grilling.
In Ruk Mookata there are two choices of soup base to choose for steamboat: Tom Yam (Spicy) and Pork Bone Soup (Clear). Both are equally legit taste but depends on personal flavours, if you have a group of people visiting, feel free to opt for mix soup base where you can savour each type of soup base in a different pot.
The signature complimentary Milk Green Tea will be offered on each visit (serve by headcount), tastes mildly sweet and very flavourful. Sadly each person is only entitled to have one cup of it without any refill!
Sauce & Pre-Cook Food Section
Like the other steamboat concepts out there, Ruk Mookata also offers a self-service section for diners to pick any meats, seafood, sauces, ice-cream and beverages from the free area.
The refill rate in Ruk Mookata is very spontaneous especially after you direct request with one of the waiter’s stationed in refill area.
An array of pre-cooked food plus fruits at this sections; Steamed Rice, Curry Chicken, Som Tam, Spiced Fried Chicken, Lemon Grass Chicken, Soft Shell Crab, Sliced Watermelon, Sliced Pineapple and Sliced Orange.
Great snacks to enjoy especially for the Spiced Fried Chicken (taste like Malay Ayam Goreng Berempah) while waiting for those raw food to be cooked.
Ruk Mookata also offers various types of Thai Sauces to dip with your foods. Among all of the sauces served, we favour the sweet & sour red chilli sauce (thick type) as our main dipping sauces which greatly enhances the overall food flavours with a sweet hint of chilli taste.
If you are adventurous enough, feel free to try out all of the sauces offered in Ruk Mookata and you will sure to find a type of sauce which you prefer to dip the most of it.
Seafood, Vegetables & Meat Slices Section
Ruk Mookata offers a delightful range of meat for grilling session; Pork Belly, Marinated Pork Belly, Lamb, Mutton, Thai Pork Collar and much more.
Personally loves the Pork Belly which has the extra porky flavour and tastes exactly like a crispy bacon while grilling for an extended period of time.
If you are one of the seafood lovers, there is also an extensive range of seafood to choose from; Prawn, Flower Crab, Clam, Bamboo Clam, Squid, Octopus, Fish and many more.
Nothing much to shout about seafood selection in Ruk Mookata (except for prawn and clam which is gigantic in size during our visit) but at least most of the seafood served is very fresh.
Other than meat slices and seafood, Ruk Mookata also serves vegetables and processed food as a different variant of food for steamboat.
During the steamboat session, you can also try having one piece of the Thai instant noodles (most recommended) which can be found along on top with the vegetable counter to slurp with the most refined soup base in the pot.
Not sure what is the outcome since we do not prefer to have any instant food during our food journey, but seems like most of the teenager are very enjoyable with that instant noodle idea (so should assume to be good).
Ice Cream & Beverages
After finishing the one and only precious “Milk Green Tea” its time to back to the reality by having some real common drinks.
Free flow of Lemon Tea, Honey Green Tea, Chinese Tea and Herbal Tea are available at the beverage area with loads of ice cube of course!
Recommend to have the Chrysanthemum Tea at the counter since it tastes like self-boiled and has a great effect on preventing heat after having bunch of grilled meat.
For those who have a sweet tooth, delightful Thai made ice cream might be exactly what you are looking for after the meal.
There is numerous flavour of Thai ice cream being offered in Ruk Mookata, with the lime flavour serves as the most toothsome ones after having all of them!
The Unforeseen Circumstances
Steamboat from outdoor might be a good idea at first but seems no longer fun when you encountered a really bad weather (imagine when you are sitting on the outside table like us)!
There are some strong-willed diners who would not be moved even one inch by the bad weather around them (personally salute their motivation) and still able to casually feast on their meal 😉
If you happen to meet these type of bad weather condition while happen to sit on the outside. Fret not, Ruk Mookata will give you a 50% discount on your next visit as a one-time compensation offer.
So next time when you are enjoying an outdoor steamboat, do remember to stare at the clouds and check on the weather mood (forecast) to avoid any wet endings!
