Future World, Where Art Meets Science – Art Science Museum
Art Science Museum Introduction
As the name suggests, the ArtScience Museum beautifully fuses art and science to tell fascinating stories. This premier venue houses a constantly changing line-up of major international touring exhibitions, brought in through collaborations with organizations such as the American Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian Institute, and world-renowned furniture designer Herman Miller.
The museum is also home to the permanent exhibition, FUTURE WORLD: Where Art Meets Science. Visitors can immerse themselves in a dynamic 1,500-square-metre digital universe of interactive art installations revolving around the themes of Nature, Town, Park, and Science.
*The ArtScience Museum is located at Marina Bay Sands, and the building structure is easily recognizable like a huge white blooming flower of its own kind! 😉
Art Science Exhibition: Nature Theme
The exhibition begins in Nature Theme, where the first gallery illustrates how the literal and conceptual boundaries between visitors and artwork are being dissolved – Nature transition into the Town section of the exhibition in the playful artwork, sliding through the Fruit Field. The cycle of life, death, and rebirth is realized as the visitors glide down the slide to depart Nature and enter into Town.
In Non-Geek Language: Generally speaking, this gallery is a dark room filled with projectiles that shows full cycles of living nature.
*Highly recommend to sit down and amaze with the beauty of floral and soothing music that plays along with it.
Art Science Exhibition: Town Theme
It is often in cities where great achievements in art and science are made. Urban areas offer access to education, jobs, transport, and information, as well as a sense of community, and space for culture to proliferate.
In the town section of the exhibition, participants of all ages become players on the municipal stage – they get to decide how to connect city on the screen, draw everything essentials on developing a city, and also fighting the monster (Godzilla alike) that comes to invade the city! 😉
*Best place to bring kids along to learn social skills and how to communicate with others, and most importantly can train their sense of responsibilities during an interaction.
Art Science Exhibition: Park Theme
Playful activities is an outlet for excess energy, done for enjoyment, amusement, pleasure, and fun. However, play also allow us to reflect on the ideas and truths that are missed in the activities of daily life, transcending the notion of “Pleasure” to become an essential element of personal and societal development.
In Park, visitors are invited to explore several different forms of recreations. This is a space to exert yourself physically and have fun, but also to appreciate and reflect on “play” as an integral and essential part of human survival.
*Throwing colorful balls, and motion touch problem-solving mini-games and be found in this section, overall suitable for kids while some of them (games) might need parental guidance.
ArtScience Museum Shop
After visiting the ArtScience Museum, there will also be a Souvenirs Shop right in front of the exhibition entrance for those who are interested in getting some visitor trophies.
Just realize that some of the collectibles are worth to buy (city eggs) and future world T-shirt because it is rare and cant be found elsewhere in Singapore. 😉
