Authentic Yemeni Middle Eastern Cuisines @ Hadramawt Restaurant
Hadramawt is a Yemeni Restaurant which offers an extensive array of authentic Middle Eastern and Yemeni Cuisines, with the recipe all derived from the original country.
The restaurant ambience is largely influenced by Arabic interior concept with all the grand and gorgeous sightings everywhere inside Hadramawt to ensure diners would have a comfortable dining session.
Hadramawt Mixed Appetizer RM39.90 is a comfort food for middle eastern people and is a must order dish on every visit.
The Mixed Appetizer Set consists of 5 types of middle eastern simple salad described as below.
Hummus – A smooth blend of chickpeas, tahini, olive oil and lemon juice. Smooth and oily, taste like peanut butter.
Baba Ganouj – A smooth blend of grilled eggplant, tahini and lemon juice. Mushy eggplant mixture with a strong spice taste.
Mutabbel – A smooth blend of eggplant, tahini, lemon juice and olive oil. Another smooth nutty paste has never guessed it was actually eggplant unless being told.
Tabouleh – A mixture of finely chopped parsley, tomatoes with lemon juice, olive oil and couscous. Sweet and sour salad with a strong scent of parsley.
Fattoush – Salad of cucumber, lettuce, parsley, fried bread and onion. Same like normal salad but an upgraded version with some mix spices on it.
After you ordered the mixed appetizer, a big Moulawah Bread (clay oven-baked flatbread with poppy seed sprinkle all over on top) will be served as a complimentary roti.
Take your time dipping roti with all sorts of appetizer using the Moulawah Bread and you will find out which is the best appetizer eventually depending on individual taste.
I would say this mixed appetizer set can easily replace the main course meal – by the time you finish up everything, you are already in the tip-top condition on the tummy side.
Yemeni Rice Dish
The Lamb Mendy RM29.90 is another must-try dish when you are having Middle Eastern Cuisine. Lamb used in this dish is cooked together with rice in a traditional underground charcoal oven produces an irresistible aromatic succulent texture on each bite.
The Mendy Rice Set also served with a tomato paste sauce and chilli paste sauce, which gives a small kick (mild spicy flavour) on each spoonful of rice when you dig in.
Do ask for any part of lamb you prefer and they will happily prepare as per requested.
Drinks & Beverage
The Arabic Tea Pot RM14.00 consists of tea and mint leaves is a brilliant choice of beverage in Hadramawt if you tend to sit back and relax for a few cup of tea after the meal.
Since you are going to take some time with the Moulawah Bread, it is wise for you to order a pot of tea to flush everything down the throat.
Hadramawt also serves a various type of exotic Middle Eastern desert with delightful sugary appearance if you wish to try some.
