Exclusive Spanish Fine Dining @ La Cocina Spanish Restaurant
La Cocina is a Spanish term for “The Kitchen” or “Art of Cooking”. This Spanish Restaurant has a long history in Taipan area (more than 15 years) under the lead of very well dedicated and experienced head chef, means diners at La Cocina can expect the very best in food, wine, and service.
Lamb Meatball Tapas
Our meal at La Cocina starts with a few delectable Tapas (Appetizers). Lamb Meatballs (Albondigas de Cordero) RM23.90 is an original recipe in La Cocina, Spanish Lamb Meatballs with herbs served in tomato sauce. Meatballs taste rich and mellow, unlike any common meatballs that meant to be chewy.
The leftover well-spiced tomato sauces are best to dip with the complimentary bread slices to clear the whole dish up.
Crunchy Zucchini Parmesan Crisp
Zucchini Parmesan Crisp (Calabacin Frito Crujiente de Parmesano) RM19.90 is a fried coated sliced zucchini (breadcrumb & parmesan cheese) served with a tamarind sauce.
These delightful snacks are still warm crispy upon serving and tend to be more appetizing with the tart-sweet dipping sauce.
Al Dente Saffron Linguini
The Chef Special “Saffron Linguini” (Linguini Pasta Con Salsa De Crema De Azafran) RM34.90 serves as the hype of the meal. A special creation by the La Cocina Chef, linguini pasta tosses with the world’s most expensive herbs, saffron with large prawn, black mussels, clam, squid and fish fillet.
Linguini is obviously freshly made (with a strong scent of flour) tastes extremely scrumptious paired with cream, while this dish gains our personal two thumbs up and is a must try upon visit.
Portion wise for this dish is generous enough which can be shared among two diners.
Chicken Vegetable Mix Platter
Sizzling Chicken Brochette (Brocheta De Pollo A La Plancha) RM32.90 featuring chicken chop pieces on a skewer with peppers, fresh mushroom and onion, served with mixed vegetables, grilled tomato and roast potatoes.
This dish has a wide selection of condiments to choose from; Spanish Garlic Cream (our choice), Mushroom Sauce and Black Pepper Sauce. Succulent chicken cube tastes extra crunchy and refreshing with a different combination of vegetables on each bite.
Aromatic Glazed Egg Custard
Caramelized Rich Custard (Crema Catalana) RM10.90 is one of the most popular Good Ol desserts on the La Cocina menu. A coated thin layer of caramelized sugar on top of the dessert produces an aromatic burnt smell while savouring with these rich flavoured Spanish custard.
Don’t get bluff by the size of this plate, the height is actually shallow and easily finish within few spoonful. You might need to opt for another plate of this dessert after all 😉
Special Rum & Raisin Ice Cream
Premium Homemade Rum & Raisin Ice Cream (Helado del Ron y de la Pasa) RM10.90 is the La Cocina speciality (Liquor) dessert. Smooth single scoop ice cream is filled with a mouthful of raisin along with the strong scent of rum liquor (La Cocina only uses real rum to pickle the raisins) which would give you a small kick just like getting a shot of liquor.
This dessert is definitely a better version of Rum & Raisin Ice Cream compared with The Baskin Robins (its a shame that Baskin Robins does not have this flavour anymore) ;(
