Lengshuikeng (冷水坑) – The Cold Water Pit
Lengshuikeng (冷水坑) is a popular rest spot for visitors hiking or touring Yangmingshan National Park and houses a visitor centre, small restaurant, as well as an outdoor foot-soaking pool very accessible from the main road.
There are also a few popular attractions which you should visit during your “resting period” at Lengshuikeng (冷水坑).
The Milk Pond (牛奶湖) that really confuse all visitors by its milky colour is actually formed due to the mineral reaction to the sulfur which flows in the area.
A high concentration of volcanic matters in the water also prevents the growth of aquatic plants, forming a strong contrast with the verdant grassy mine-pit depression where clear water has flowed through.
The Qingshan Bridge (箐山吊桥) proximately 50 meters tall is used to cross Lengshuikeng river which flows underneath the bridge.
This is the recommended path to take if you are interested to visit Juansi Waterfall (绢丝瀑布) which is 2km away.
Not sure which way you are heading? Fret not, there always a visitor centre located on each attraction in Yangmingshan with a team of skilful and polite customer service crew who can assist you should you have any inquiries.
On the other hand, the visitor centre also acts as a public transport HUB for buses, so in case you are lost, Yangmingshan visitor centre without a doubt is the real lifesaver! 😉
