*Must Try* A Healthy Protein Salad Galore – The Fish Bowl
The Fish Bowl Story
Poké may have originated in Hawaii but bears heavy on Japanese influences. In essence, it is marinated raw fish served on a bed of warm rice. Its known to be a “heavier” alternative to a simple salad but the variations of poké make it a versatile dish to have it at any time of day.
Here at The Fish Bowl, their offers are specially crafted as a homage to the local culture and celebrate local flavors. With that, they are giving poké its own unique Malaysian identity and creating the rise of an evolution of poké.
*In our opinion, the concept of Poké (rice and sashimi) might be a “heavier” alternative to a simple salad (all veggies) that we can truly enjoy on every meal.
The Poké Ordering Process
The Fish Bowl runs a “self-service” ordering process which requires you to fill in a simple order form before you proceed to the counter for payment, it is always a good practice to learn things beforehand to prevent a long queue due to a person misbehavior! 😉
1.) Get an order form and pencil from the front counter
2.) Read carefully then fill in every detail from step 1 – step 6
3.) Skip step 4 if you don’t need any premium add-on (extra charges)
4.) Head for the counter to place order/make payment, inquiry for the beverage if needed
5.) Check for your ordering number (on the bills) and wait until your number being called
6.) Collect food, get free fork & spoon, find a seat and “Aloha Poké”
*If you are in such a hurry or indecisive as a first-timer, just proceed to the counter directly and pick any of their best sellers which saves time and are equally delicious.
The Super Deluxe Protein Bowl
Finally, after a long debate “between two hungry yet stingy couples” we had concluded and managed to customized our very own peace treaty bowl which we personally named it as “The Super Deluxe Protein Bowl” RM30.00 alas! 😉
We created our own Poké by picking – brown rice (base), garlic and teriyaki (sauces), corns, edamame, walnuts and seaweed salad (sides), chia seeds, furikake, fish roe (toppings), shoyu salmon and spicy shoyu tuna (protein).
Overall taste, is very scrumptious (better than any Japanese sashimi rice bowl), really wish that we could enjoy this delicious salad once on a daily basis but we have no choice but to make it as a monthly thing due to location and wallet damage issues! 😉
