*Must Try* Sawadee Ka Thai Street Food – Mr Tuk Tuk Restaurant
Mr. Tuk Tuk Origin
Craving about authentic Thai Cuisine around Selangor area? Then you should head for any “Mr. Tuk Tuk” restaurants, happens to be the “Hottest Food Topic” recently.
We always try our luck over these few months (for an instant dining spot) during the lunch peak hours and the lady luck finally smiles upon us last week! 😉
*Mr. Tuk Tuk specialises in serving delectable a la carte Thai street food, special platter, snacks, and beverages.
Affordable Tuk Tuk Set Meal
If you are indecisive and wanted to save some costs (just like us), always do opt for their “Set Menu” (we ordered SM2) RM18.80 – serves with Pandan Chicken, Thai Mango Salad, Crispy Fish Fillet with Thai Sauce, and fried rice.
We concluded everything on the set dish as “Aroi” (delicious) and worth every single penny spent – fried rice was evenly coated with few big shrimps, pandan chicken was delicious not overly greasy, mango salad deems to be light sour and refreshing, crispy fish fillet have a similar taste like Chinese sweet & sour style very match while munching with fried rice.
*What’s more, each order of set meal also comes with a FREE large sized drink of the day (it was fresh watermelon juice during our visit), now how good was that? 😉
Signature Tuk Tuk Laksa
Due out of curiosity, we also did order a set of Tuk Tuk Laksa RM10.80 – serving with a bowl of laksa broth, spice leaves, bean sprouts, salted vegetables, and rice vermicelli.
The result was surprising “Aroi Mak Mak Mak” (very very very delicious), once you dipped the rice vermicelli into the laksa broth and start chowing, next thing you can savor is the rich mellow goodness of coconut milk that directly overcomes with a fine scent of dried shrimps, lemongrass and various spices.
We regard it as a delectable “Thai” laksa at its best, definitely worth our personal two thumbs up! 😉
*Other than Thai Laksa, Mr. Tuk Tuk also offers some all-time favorite Thai snacks on the menu – Som Tam, Kai Ping, Phat Thai, Green Curry and many more.
All-Time-Favorite Thai Dessert
While dining in a Thai restaurant, you just can’t leave until your sweet tooth is fully satiated, thus, here comes a bowl of “tham thim krob” RM 7.90 – Waterchestnut (Red Ruby) in coconut cream.
Unlike any of those out there, Tuk Tuk’s version is considered more evenly and mild taste, especially toothsome where perfectly coated “Red Ruby” still manages to retain its crunchy texture prior serving.
*Not fancy with this dessert? Fret not, there are many other dessert selections such as; mango sticky rice, taco, Thai fried ice cream, and Tuk Tuk artisan ice cream.
*Kindly note that menu availability and price might vary from time to time
