*Must Try Snacks* Tianjin Onion Pancake (天津葱抓饼) – The Famous Crispy Onion Pancake
Looking for some simple finger food which can be enjoyed during your shopping frenzy in Taipei? If you happened to be around Yongkang Street at Dongmen Station (MRT), the Tianjin Onion Pancake (天津葱抓饼) is definitely a must try on the list.
Being told by locals, the pancake stall is made famous mainly due to its aromatic scallion fragrant which can be smelled from blocks away while each one of them is freshly made prior order so be prepared to wait. Be smart and decide what you would like to have (while queueing) by looking onto the menu board to avoid any delays! 😉
*There will always be a long queue no matter what time you be there (a bit shorter during the non-peak hour) but fret not they are working like a fast food manager to ensure a speedy smooth moving line!
We ordered a premium onion pancake NT$40 which consists of pancake, ham and egg with special brown sauce spread on each side of it.
Taste like having an onion flavour “Roti Canai” with various kind stuffings in it, honestly speaking it’s very delicious (with these ingredients combination) and the portion is rather big (can treat as a full meal), very glad that we had found a new way of having Roti Canai! 😉
*Highly recommend by adding some spicy sauce (can request with the owner) onto the pancake for better tasting, Tianjin Onion Pancake is best to serve with KO Tea (康青龙) which is a few shop lots nearby.
