*Must Try* The Best Italian Restaurant in Sabah – Little Italy
The Little Italy Story
Little Italy started off their operations in the suburbs of Kota Kinabalu in late 2000, with the aim to produces the best authentic Italian cuisines to locals.
As 18 years have passed and Little Italy has become a “Myth” in Kota Kinabalu known to be serving the best Italian food that even foreigners are satisfied with the outcome!
*Little Italy specialises in serving delicious Italian comfort food such as; pasta, salad, pizza, sandwiches, desserts and many more.
Spaghetti Al Nero di Sepia
As a first timer in Little Italy, we asked the waiter for any recommendations and he immediately pointed out “Spaghetti Al Nero di Sepia” RM32.80 as their signature dish and its a must try.
We took a huge chomp and the result turns out to be very positive, spaghetti is definitely homemade and al-dente, seafood is fresh and well seasoned with various herbs & spices, can obviously taste the fragrance of the squid ink which is perfectly synced with the whole dishes.
Although this dish is superb delicious that you might have the urge to lick the whole plate, but do remember to rinse off your teeth with the beverage from time to time to avoid any embarrassment (the squid ink will attach and turns your teeth into shy black color)! 😉
*Don’t feel like having spaghetti? Little Italy also serves other yummy options in their menu such as Lasagne Di Pollo, Risotto ai Frutti di Mare, Little Italy Pizza and more.
Ravioli Mushroom in Tomato Sauce
In this food session, we tried to be as adventurous as possible since the waiter is ballsy enough to repeat that everything is almost equally good (100% homemade) and thus, Ravioli Mushroom in Marinara Tomato RM37.00 – Ravioli (filling pasta) serves with seafood in tomato sauces.
The Ravioli (Italian Dumpling) is soft and robust packed with fungi flavor (generous mushroom filling inside), tastes sweet and has a refreshing mild sour kick from the tomato, well worth every single penny spent as there’s a huge amount of calamari ring blend around with the pasta.
We are feeling naughty at that moment which leads us into this awkward combination, most customers including the waiters actually highly reckon to enjoy Ravioli Mushroom with cheezy mushroom sauce, but yeah, no hard feelings because it still looks appealing and tastes heavenly good! 😉
*Little Italy offers mix & match for their pasta section, where customers able to choose their very own pasta (from ravioli, fettuccini, linguine) and sauces (from bolognese, creamy mushroom, cheese sauce).
Italian Famous Tiramisu
We finish our main courses at a breeze (too delicious) and still craving for more, due to this we ordered their signature “Tiramisu” RM17.20 which claims to be world famous “pick me up” traditional coffee cake.
Although the price is quite unacceptable even for us – The West Malaysians, the taste is indeed toothsome where the cake is very soft and moist, evenly coated with the aroma blend of coffee and has a significant flavor on each layer.
We are pretty positive that you can hardly savor this masterpiece elsewhere, so be sure to order and indulge it, if you happen to visit Little Italy! 😉
*Other than Tiramisu, Little Italy also serves other delectable all-time favorites desserts – homemade cream caramel and chocolate mousse.
*Kindly note that menu availability and price might vary from time to time
