*Must try* A Delicious Bowl of Freshly Made Udon @ Udon Kobo Min Min
Craving for one bowl of delicious Udon? YES, We DO desperately look for a bowl of good udon throughout the weekend and this is exactly how we stumble upon a real hidden gem around Damansara Area “The Udon Kobo Min Min” Restaurant.
Udon Kobo Min Min area serves a wide range of Japanese comfort food which consists of; Udon, Katsudon, Donburi, Onigiri, Sashimi, and dessert on the menu. While using Udon as the main genre in the menu, it’s not hard to understand that Udon is their best selling item with almost 15 flavours to choose from (plus still counting).
Mild Spicy Curry Udon
Meals in Udon Kobo Min Min starts with a bowl of Curry Udon RM20.90 which serves with signature pork curry. For those who love to eat “Maggi Curry” flavour out there, this bowl has a quite similar flavour to it while having a thicker noodle to chew on and more luscious garnishes such as spring onion, scallion and onions in a bowl.
The flavoursome thick curry broth used to covers the al dente udon harmonies with each other during the “chew chew” event in the mouth.
Don’t feel shy when you actually making the slurping noise while having noodles in Udon Kobo Min Min, it was actually a good gesture to proves that noodle/udon tastes delicious in Japanese culture (where everyone pretty much doing the same like you do). 😉
Tori Karaage Udon
Tori Karaage Udon RM18.90 is an udon served with the Japanese fried chicken set dish. Udon served this set is dry chilled and meant to dip into a “Mentsuyu” sauce (Soy Sauce Condiments) upon serving.
Udon is fresh and chewy as expected (since it is homemade twice daily) while the succulent crispy Tori Karaage (deep fried chicken) also contributes half of the points in this whole dish.
Personally would say once you had tried these Tori Karaage from Min Min, you would never have that many cravings on KFC or Mac Donalds anymore.
Feel like having other dishes instead of Udon? Fret not, Kobo Min Min also offers “Don” Rice dishes on the menu just to fulfil your appetite.
Oyako Don RM18.90 is a chicken rice dish which is well known as the Japanese Common Food. This dish might look simple by using rice as the base then loaded with chicken slices, onion, egg and spring onion as toppings but it actually tastes way delicious than its appearance (especially when the egg & sauces well simmered into the steamed rice).
Would like to recommend this dish to everyone since it does not have the strong chicken gamy taste (personally could not stand the taste).
For greedy diners who would love to try two different types of dishes in one round, do opt for the small bowl version of “Don” at RM10.90 only.
The Mizu Mochi RM7.90 is a Japanese Clear Jelly served with brown sugar syrup & roasted soy powder. Given by its name, this mochi is actually crystal clear like water and the overall mochi taste has to depend on its following garnishes.
Each scoop of this mochi has a strong taste of soy powder with a light flavour of brown sugar syrup, Shiratama Kinako Kuromitsu from Tsujiri tends to be the better version of this dessert.
If you are huge fans for Udon’s, Udon Kobo Min Min is definitely a bookmarked must-try place on your food journey!
