*Must Try Breakfast* Yong He Dou Jiang (永和豆浆) – The Taiwanese Breakfast Quickie
The Taiwanese love their breakfast but they prefer to have it in a fast and efficient way. Yong He Dou Jiang (永和豆浆) which we visited for breakfast in Taipei still keeping their tradition by offering freshly made of the day.
Yong He Dou Jiang (永和豆浆) is specialized in fresh soy milk which considered as the “Soul” in their breakfast course, so do expect each food in the menu is somehow related with the healthy soybeans.
Crispy Brekkie Egg Roll
Our Taiwanese breakfast starts with a Pancake Egg Roll (蛋饼) NT$20 that heavily stuffed with crispy fried Chakoi (油条) on the inside which needs to spend more chew-chew moment in order to consume it.
Overall taste is rather bland with only eggs and flour while munching it, we had been told (by the queen boss) that we can actually serve this egg roll with the chilli sauce afterwards!
Salty Soy Milk Porridge
The Salty Soy Milk (咸豆浆) NT$25 was a must try dish in the menu which even becomes popular among Japanese tourist in the restaurant.
A Soft tofu, chakoi, scallion, dried sakura shrimps, and soymilk combinations make it very irresistible to hop into a few more scoops.
Tastes like having a light salty soymilk (with a strong hint of seafood taste) but definitely not feeling awkward at all!
Egg Shrimp Rice Roll
Signature Rice Roll (饭团) NT$30 serves with egg pancake, glutinous rice and generous fillings are sure to be known as the Taiwanese energy bar!
The aromatic and salty fried shrimp scallion filling was the perfect duo to offset the bland tasting rice and egg pancake.
You definitely need two people to finish off this monster roll unless you are in the gluttony mode! 😉
Fresh Healthy Soymilk
We wrap everythings up with a cup of fresh soy milk NT$20 that guaranteed to clear any additional greasy taste from the palate.
Yong He Dou Jiang (永和豆浆) offers two variations on their soy milk; pure soy milk and rice soy milk both equally produces smooth and great tastes.
For some reasons, Taiwan’s Soy Milk appears to have better taste than our country, do try it out yourself one day during your own visit to tell the differences! 😉
Fast Breakfast Take-Away
Yong He Dou Jiang (永和豆浆) also prepared freshly made buns and pastries to cater students and working community who are in a hurry.
All those pastries are delectable and worth a try if your tummy is still curious enough. 😉
*Simplicity and healthy is the only words that we can think of to describe for this breakfast restaurant. If you want to experience a real Taiwanese breakfast this is the right place to visit.
