The PUTIEN brand traces its roots to namesake city of Putian – a beautiful coastal suburb in Fujian, with rich cultural history and storied tradition since its settlement over almost one and a half millennium ago. Since the year 2000, Putien had proven its art in culinary skills and gradually maintained reputations up till date.
The Putien offers a lavish yet simple style of dining concept where the customer can choose to dine in the public hall or a personal area for family gathering meal. Every table has their special men in black agent (the waiter) to introduce menu, place and keep track on the order to ensure diner have a great dining experience.
Putien Light Entree
A delightful set of appetizer which includes the light seasoned red bean and sliced yam bean marinated with tangerine sauce pickle is being served while waiting for the main course.
Sweet Glazed Stir-Fry Yam
Stir-fry Yam (酥炒芋头) RM11.90 is the first entree for the night, this dish is made of yam covered with a glaze of sticky sugar coating forms a light crispy texture on the crust. The taste is flavourful, especially while it was still piping hot.
Sticky Flavoursome Century Egg
The Putien Style Century Egg (糖醋皮蛋) RM9.90 might not be everyone’s favourite, but you cant actually tells the taste of this dish unless given a few more pieces into it. Putien Style Century Egg is well seasoned and seems to manage becomes a palatable dish for every diner.
Signature Putien Lor Mee & Cha Fen
The Putien Lor Mee (莆田卤面) RM13.90 and Putien Ca Fen (农家擦粉) RM13.90 is a local comfort food in Putian. Putien Lor Mee featuring silky Putien noodles with pork belly, prawn and clam braised in a luscious pork broth. The Rich milky stock of pork and chicken, boiled for 6 hours are sure to enhance the overall taste of the noodle dish.
While Putien Ca Fen traces its origins to a historical event. In Putian, the 4th day of the Lunar New Year is also celebrated as the Lunar New Year Eve mainly because Putian was once attacked on New Year Eve by the Japanese and all their home were ransacked. On the 4th day of new year, the local finally manages to get back to home and found out that they only have bits and pieces of bee hoon, mee sua and other ingredient left. They used up what they have left and create the historical dish and commemorate that day.
Crispy Shredded Pork Bun
The Shredded Meat with Bun (黄金荷叶包) RM5.90 per pcs is a speciality dish in Putien, the hot crisp bun covered with sesame are suppose to wide open in the middle and stuff as much stir-fry shredded pork onion inside before having it. Final taste, needless to say, gains the most respectable thumbs up.
Cleansing Seaweed Bean Curd Soup
Meal continues with a clear soup dish “Seaweed Crabmeat and Bean Curd Soup” (紫菜蟹肉豆腐羹) RM22.90 which is a wise option for a meal balance. The soup tastes delightful with a combination of seaweed, bean curd, crabsticks, and spring onion garnishes.
Seaweed is much more nutrient dense than any land vegetables. It is an excellent source of micronutrients including folate, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, and selenium. More importantly, seaweed is a great source of iodine which is a great natural supplement for everyone.
Delightful Putien Style Dessert
Putien offers a variety of refreshing and healthy desserts which would melt diners heart.
Chilled Putian Loquat in Herbal Jelly RM7.90 (薄荷枇杷冻) – Loquat, a Putian staple which is tender and juicy. Putien mixes the loquat with traditional Chinese herbs and serves it as a light and nutritious dessert.
Chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Fruits (香茅冻) RM6.90 – Lemongrass jelly topped with fresh fruits makes every spoonful is delightful.
The One Michelin Star restaurant also serves Chinese Tea, Herbal Tea, and Canned Drink for palate clearing.
