Simple Casual Korean Dining Spot – Soban (소반) Korean Restaurant
Soban Korean Dining Introduction
‘SOBAN’ means a small dining table or a simple meal in Korean words is a modern casual Korean restaurant that aims to introduce healthy and fresh, authentic Korean food in Malaysia.
Located at level 2 Paradigm mall, Soban (previously Daorae Express) restaurant is definitely our favourite choice for a simple Korean meal right before our movie session at the top floor GSC. 😉
*This restaurant has a quiet and relaxing ambience, while fully equipped with a plug-in spot (corner seats) if you wish to charge any device, another great alternative to chill out instead of a cafe.
Cheese Gyeran Mari
As a starter dish, we ordered a fairly modern teenager most beloved dish – “Cheese Gyeran Mari” RM14.90 aka the cheese roll omelette.
Taste really awesome where omelette stuffed with loads of mozzarella cheese (successful pull out strings of cheese), while the bbq sauce adds up an additional smoky flavour to the egg rolls. Highly recommend to try it out! 😉
*Soban best side dish also includes; Kimchi Gyeran Mari (kimchi egg roll), Cheese Gamja Jeon (potato mozzarella cheese pancake), Goon Mandu (grill dumpling) and many more.
Signature Haemool Ramyeon
While dining in Soban, you wouldn’t want to miss out trying their signature Haemool Ramyeon RM15.90 aka spicy seafood ramyeon.
For this set, the waiter has to serve with a “Superbowl” where we guess at least two portions of ramyeon (noodle) being stuffed in here along with tons of seafood goodies such as prawns, clams, and vegetables. The overall taste as expected, simple yet sturdy while the generous portion definitely is a huge shoutout for this ramyeon set.
*What to do with the leftover Ramyeon soup? Feel free to order a set of Gimbap (rice roll) soak and mash it up then go for a second round! 😉
Sam Gyup Sal Combo
Feel like having a full Korean set? Soban also offers Sam Gyup Sal Combo Set (Pork Belly BBQ Combo) at RM29.90 serves with meat slices, soup stew, steamed rice, banchan and fresh salad.
BBQ Pork Belly is grilled to perfection prior served (brownish and not too greasy), kimchi stew is one of the best that we have eaten so far, while steamed rice and banchan pretty much wraps up everything perfectly! 😉
*Still can’t get enough of those delicious banchan? Fret not, you can order as much banchan refill (fresh kimchi is the best) as you could at totally free of charge.
