The Red House (西门红楼) – Historical Art & Cultural Building
Built-in 1908 by the Japanese, The Red House (西门红楼) are originally built to serve as the first government-operated public-run market, and now it is classed and preserved as a municipal heritage site.
Located at Ximending, this Western-style building features an octagonal entrance and cross-shaped floor plan where merchants could showcase their goods, hosting exhibitions and performances daily.
*There is an internal upgrading work ongoing which affects the small concert hall and historical exhibition on the second and third floor thus prohibits any visitor at the time being.
Red House Creative Boutique
The Red House (西门红楼), 16th Creative Boutique is also one of the best spots to lookout if you are interested in fashion trend and handicraft stuff.

- Closed on Monday
Houses numerous trendy item from; custom-made clothes, wood carvings, bottle design and much more.
Not sure how many stalls in there but definitely can confirm that there are two fully occupied floor just for the creative and art stuff only! 😉

Red House Hi-Tea Session
Feeling tired after all those “Creative” shopping sessions? The Red House (西门红楼) also offer a tea shop (their coffee tastes pretty good as well) for you to crash in if you eagerly to find a great spot to quench thirst.
*Do remember to pick a window side seat if you want to enjoy a scenic plaza view by staring thru the window.

A special “Scenic” discovery during our stroll right outside The Red House, Dog Fashion Street Walk is definitely the best compared to any other fur creature in the universe! 😉
*The square behind the main building is home to Taipei’s largest LGBT district and a large number of outdoor bars (with great drinks and service), you can either go there for a drink or walk straight down to Ximending Shopping District nearby.
